The IASP is the worldwide network of Science and Technology Parks. It seeks to connect Science Park professionals from across the globe and provide services that drive growth and effectiveness for its member Science Parks. The Science Parks in turn are intended to enhance the competitiveness of companies and entrepreneurs of their cities and regions, and to contribute to global economic development through innovation, entrepreneurship, and the transfer of knowledge and technology.

UNESCO’s University-Industry-Science Partnership (UNISPAR) program was launched in 1993 to improve the quality of universities in developing countries and encourage them to become more involved in the process of industrialization of their country.

Since 2002, UNISPAR has focused on capacity-building and technical assistance in the governance of science and technology parks. The expected results are:
